Pedestrian struck, killed by SUV

THE BRONX - A pedestrian was struck and killed while trying to cross a Bronx street last night.

Police say the 38-year-old Hispanic man was hit by an SUV at East Tremont and Lafayette avenues. He was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center where he later died.

According to investigators, the victim was not in the crosswalk, and the 62-year-old driver has not been charged.
