THE BRONX - Police are investigating a Riverdale car accident that killed a pedestrian tonight.

According to officials, the driver lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a 26-year-old man on West 261st Street and Riverdale Avenue.

Police say the victim was rushed to the hospital, but later died. They say the driver stayed on the scene and has not been charged.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
