Pipe bursts at Bronx River Houses

THE BRONX - A busted pipe forced people out of the Bronx River Houses Wednesday.

NYCHA officials said the leak started on the ninth floor of the building at East 174th Street after someone tampered with a pipe.

The elevators were shut down as water was cleaned up, but officials say they were working with tenants who needed help getting up stairs.

As of Wednesday night, it is not known when the elevators will be working again.
