Plea deal reached in elderly Bronx woman's murder

THE BRONX - The suspect in the murder of an elderly Bronx woman accepted a plea deal in court today and pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

In 2009, Jamal Blair's attorney says Blair was being chased by gang members when he fired a gun at them, missing and striking 92-year-old Sadie Mitchell, killing her.

According to the deal, Blair will be sentenced to 14 years in prison at a maximum security facility.

Blair will be officially sentenced Sept. 27.
