THE BRONX - A 5-year-old boy was found dead in Morris Heights, and sources say his father is in police custody.

According to the NYPD, an emergency call was placed at around 1:30 a.m. about an emotionally disturbed person at a building on West 179th Street, near University Avenue.

Authorities say Stewart Espinal was found unconscious and unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

The medical examiner will determine a cause of death. There is not yet information on the father's name or whether charges have been filed.
