THE BRONX - Police today canceled an Amber Alert for a 5-year-old Mount Vernon boy after he was found safe in the Bronx.

Police say Thomas Whaley, 49, who has a criminal record, took Brown from his grandfather's house Sunday morning. Whaley, the former boyfriend of the boy's mother, is being questioned by police at the 42nd Precinct. He has not yet been charged with a crime.The Amber Alert was issued at 1:30 a.m. this morning.
