Police: Bicyclist struck and killed in hit-and-run

Police say a bicyclist was killed after being hit by a vehicle in the Bronx Saturday morning.

THE BRONX - Police say a bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run Saturday morning.

Officials say it happened around 1 a.m. on East Tremont Avenue.

Family members tell News 12 that 26-year-old Giovanni Nin was leaving his shift at FedEx and was riding to his girlfriend's house.

An investigation determined that Nin attempted to cross East Tremont Avenue when he was struck by a silver BMW X-5.

Officers say the driver fled the scene. No arrests have been made at this time.
