THE BRONX - Police say a black baby doll was found hanging by a metal chain noose in The Bronx yesterday, and they are now investigating it as a hate crime.

According to authorities, the doll was found at the Department of Parks and Recreation's Bronx headquarters. Police sources say it was in an employee area and out of public sight.

Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe issued a statement saying that the department does not tolerate hateful acts such as this or any other form of discrimination.

No arrests have been made and employees are being questioned by police. Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
