Police are confirming that the body of a woman was found in her Fordham Heights apartment on Sunday evening.

THE BRONX - Police are confirming that the body of a woman was found in her Fordham apartment on Sunday evening.

The apartment is located on Walton Avenue and East 184th Street.

Neighbors say they started complaining about a smell over a week ago, and when police came to investigate on Sunday, they found the dead body and the woman's mother sitting nearby.

News 12 was told that the woman's body was hanging from the ceiling.

News 12 saw the mother being taken away in an ambulance.  Police have not confirmed her identity, but according to neighbors, the woman is named Sandra Sharpe.  They say the daughter, who was in her 30s, was named Patrice Sharpe.

News 12 has been told that the mother and daughter did not have a good relationship.

Police say that no criminality is suspected.
