Police: Car fire video could be linked to fatal hit-and-run

THE BRONX - Police say newly obtained surveillance video could provide clues to a deadly hit-and-run accident that happened the day after Christmas.Josbel River, 24, was walking along Mosholu Parkway on his way home from a club when he was struck and killed two blocks away from his residence. The driver then took off from the scene of the crash.Today, a surveillance video was released showing a man parking a 1999 Suzuki Vitara at West 238th Street and Review Place two hours after the fatal accident. A few minutes later, the car can be seen bursting into flames. An eyewitness says the car looked like it had been in an accident.Anyone who has information on the fatal hit-and-run crash or who witnessed the car fire is being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
