Police charge man in shooting of off-duty Bronx cop

THE BRONX - The man who police say shot off-duty NYPD Officer Richard Olmo outside a Pelham Bay diner is back in the Bronx.

Samuel Ventura, who was arrested in Westbury, Conn., was walked out of the 49th Precinct in handcuffs today.

Ventura is charged with multiple counts of attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
