THE BRONX - The case of a 3-month old girl from the Bronx who remains in critical condition after suffering a skull fracture and multiple other injuries is being called a criminal investigation, according to New York City Police Commissioner James O'Neill.

Sherlin Camacho was found Tuesday inside her Honeywell Avenue home after police responded to the apartment for a medical emergency.

The 3-month-old suffered a spinal fracture, bruised femur, eye damage and a broken rib.

Published reports indicate that police questioned the baby's 5-year-old brother as a possible suspect in the cause of the injuries.

The boy reportedly told investigators that his baby sister made him angry, and that he demonstrated on a doll how he handled her.

Neighbor Abigal Perez says rescuers placed the baby in a breathing mask as they brought her to an ambulance.

The Administration for Children's Services says it is "deeply disturbed" about the incident and is investigating alongside the NYPD.

Camacho is currently at Montifore Medical Center in critical condition.
