Police: Cop hurt in racing crash on the Hutch

THE BRONX - Police are searching for one of the drivers involved in an alleged Friday morning street racing accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway.

Police say two men were racing each other at around 5 a.m. when one of them, an 18-year-old Yonkers man, slammed into an unmarked police car near the Westchester Avenue exit. That driver was taken into custody.

Police are still searching for the second driver, who sped off from the scene.

The officer who was hurt in the crash was taken to Jacobi Medical Center with back and neck injuries.
