Police: Cyclist struck and killed on Bruckner

Police say one person was struck and killed on the Bruckner Expressway yesterday.Police say the victim was riding his bicycle during the rush hour commute

THE BRONX - Police say one person was struck and killed on the Bruckner Expressway yesterday.

Police say the victim was riding his bicycle during the rush hour commute when a 2006 Mercedes struck him near Southern Boulevard. The cyclist had been attempting to cross three lanes of traffic.

The victim was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police say he was not carrying any indentification.

The driver of the vehicle is not expected to face any charges.
