Police: Driver loses control of car, strikes bicyclist

THE BRONX - Police say a driver struck a bicyclist, and sent him flying several feet in the air.

The accident happened at the intersection of Bedford Park Boulevard and Webster Avenue.

Surveillance video shows the driver of the Nissan Maxima losing control of the vehicle and striking the bicyclist, nearly crashing into the front of a bar.

The impact threw the man several feet, and knocked off his shoe. The vehicle jumped the curb onto the sidewalk a few feet from the front door of a lounge.

Both the driver and cyclist were taken to Saint Barnabas with injuries. News 12 has heard that they are expected to survive.
