Police: Gas station worker hurt in armed robbery

Police are searching for a male suspect who robbed a Bronx gas station, injuring one employee in the process. It happened around 10 p.m. Saturday

THE BRONX - Police are searching for a male suspect who robbed a Bronx gas station, injuring one employee in the process.

It happened around 10 p.m. Saturday at the Gulf station on Jerome Avenue in Bedford Park.

A 49-year-old man was working the register at the time of the incident. Police say the suspect struck the employee in the face with a gun, grabbed cash from behind the counter and then fled.

The victim suffered cuts to the face and broken teeth. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
