Police hunt for father accused of abducting children

THE BRONX - The Amber Alert for two young Bronx children has been canceled after they were found alive and safe.

Police say they are searching for the children's father, Fitz Edwards, who is accused of abducting them early Sunday morning.

One neighbor told News 12 The Bronx that she received a phone call from a relative of the children saying Edwards had burned their apartment and took the children hostage.

Authorities say Edwards then carjacked a Honda Accord and sped off with his 2-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son inside the car.

The two children were later found inside the car in Harlem.
