Police say they are searching for a gunman who opened fire on a crowd of students in Soundview, striking a 16-year-old girl in the right

THE BRONX - Police say they are searching for a gunman who opened fire on a crowd of students in Soundview, striking a 16-year-old girl in the right hip.

According to authorities, the man jumped off a public bus on Story Avenue and fired shots just as students were leaving the Soundview Educational Campus for the day.

The Department of Education says the injured teenager, who was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, is a student at Felisa Rincon de Gautier Institute for Law and Public Policy.

Anyone who may have information on the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
