UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS - Police are investigating the death of a 5-year-old boy in University Heights.

Police responded to a call about a boy in need of medical attention at 1475 Popham Ave. on Friday. Emergency services took the child to Bronx Lebanon Hospital where police say he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
