Police investigate double murder of 55-year-old Ida Randolph, 21-year-old Jena Randolph on Valentine Ave.

FORDHAM - Police are questioning a person of interest in connection to the deaths of a mother and daughter at 2794 Valentine Ave. in Fordham.

Authorities say they found the bodies of 55-year-old Ida Randolph and her daughter, 21-year-old Jena Randolph, shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday evening after they were called to the scene by a family member who couldn't get in touch with either woman.

Sources say the women were last seen when their cousin dropped them off at home Tuesday night.

Investigators say the victims were found in separate bedrooms with severe injuries, including blunt force trauma to their heads and bodies. EMS declared both women dead at the scene.

The building superintendent says police took surveillance video to aid in the investigation.

Autopsies will be conducted to determine the official cause of death.
