PELHAM BAY - Police are investigating a spike in cars that have been stripped for parts in Pelham Bay.

Since the beginning of the year, nearly a dozen cars have been stripped.

New York City Councilman Jimmy Vaca says that most of the cars have been Chevrolet Camaros or Hondas.

The councilman is urging residents to take precautions when parking their cars on the street to keep them safe.
