The dog’s handler says he helped officers who were breaking up a subway brawl among four women.

THE BRONX - A police K-9 is back at work after suffering an injury while on the job in the Bronx.

The 6-year-old German Shepherd named Bear suffered two cracked teeth and a cut tongue while helping NYPD officers break up a subway brawl among four women.

The dog's handler says that he kept a woman's foot in his mouth until she was handcuffed, despite being hurt.

Police say that 19-year-old Alexandria James and 31-year-old Tabrica Moore, both of the Bronx, were arrested.
