Police: Man assaulted Kingsbridge traffic officer

KINGSBRIDGE - Police are searching for the suspect who allegedly assaulted a traffic agent in Kingsbridge this afternoon. Investigators say the suspect smashed the driver­-side window of the agent's car shortly before 2 p.m. on West Kingsbridge Road. Emergency responders were called to the scene and transported the officer to a nearby hospital. Witnesses say a man was sitting in his van, which was parked illegally, when the agent handed him a ticket. They say the suspect then got out of his van and punched the officer's window. The incident is under investigation.
