Police: Man attacked by grandson in Norwood

NORWOOD - A senior citizen is in the hospital after police say his grandson attacked him.

Richard Delgado, 66, was picking his 21-year-old grandson up on Thursday when he struck him with a hammer, stabbed him and fled the secne.

Police escorted Delgado out of the seventh-floor apartment covered in blood. He is now in stable condition at Saint Barnabas Hospital.

Neighbors believe the grandson suffers from schizophrenia.
