Police: Man tried to rob the same bank twice in 1 month

THE BRONX - Police are searching for a suspect they say has tried to rob the same bank twice in one month.

Official say the man robbed the Popular Community Bank at 752 East Tremont Ave. on May 18 and then again on June 13.

Both times the suspect walked into the bank, brandished a gun and gave the teller a note demanding money, according to investigators.

Police say the suspect only managed to get away with any money during the May 18 robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
