KINGSBRIDGE - The man accused of fatally stabbing a Kingsbridge McDonald's manager turned himself in Wednesday, according to authorities.

Police were seeking a homeless man in connection with the slaying of 28-year-old Adam Garcia outside the West 236th Street and Broadway fast food restaurant since Monday.

Police say a man entered the 50th Precinct Wednesday with a lawyer and turned himself in. Police interviewed witnesses and placed him in a lineup to confirm the suspect's identity.

Police say the suspect had been sitting in the 24-hour McDonald's for hours when Garcia was preparing to end his shift around 4 a.m.

News 12 has previously reported that Garcia asked the man to leave, and the two walked out together, according to police. That's when witnesses say they saw them get into an argument that ended with Garcia stabbed in the chest and back.

Police say Garcia managed to move himself back inside the restaurant, where employees called for help. He later died in the hospital.

Garcia was the father of a 1-year-old.

Garcia's estranged wife, Deane Vasquez, says the area was usually full of people and that she doesn't understand how no one was able to help him during the attack.

Their child has started asking questions she says she doesn't know how to answer.

"Over the last couple of days, he's been saying 'daddy,'" Vasquez says. "I can't say anything because he doesn't know."

Garcia also leaves behind a 5-year-old from a previous relationship.
