THE BRONX - One of the two police officers that was caught in a massive fire in Coney Island this past Sunday has died.

Officer Dennis Guerra succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning and the effects of smoke inhalation during the high-rise building fire.

Guerra, 38, had been put in a medically induced coma and getting treatment in a hyperbaric chamber, but it was not enough to save the officer.

Guerra leaves behind a wife and three children.
