THE BRONX - Police say a man from the Bronx is a person of interest in the death of a man in the Hudson Valley last night.

Earlier today, police said the victim, 22-year-old Ricardo Barrett, was fatally shot. Now, a medical examiner is telling News 12 that Barrett actually suffered stab wounds.

They say some of his blood was found at the scene as he was being treated by Spring Valley police. They're also saying that there may have been no direct confrontation between Barrett and the person of interest, 20-year-old Otha Williams.

The victim was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Authorities say Williams fled the scene, and they believe he may be hiding out somewhere in Rockland.

Police are looking for Williams along with a second person in connection with the incident. Bronx residents on Vyse Avenue say Williams isn't a familiar face in the neighborhood and they have never seen him before

Anyone with information on the incident should call the Ramapo Police Department at 845-357-2400.
