Police: Pedestrian struck, killed on Bruckner Boulevard

One person is dead and another hospitalized after an accident on Bruckner Boulevard. The incident happened around 12:15 a.m. by the corner of Bruckner Boulevard

MOTT HAVEN - One person is dead and another hospitalized after an accident on Bruckner Boulevard.

The incident happened around 12:15 a.m. by the corner of Bruckner Boulevard and East 149th Street.

According to EMS, two people were transported to the hospital in serious condition.  At the hospital, doctors pronounced one man dead.  The second person, believed to be the driver of the white SUV, remains in serious condition.

Surveillance video of the accident appears to show the person hit being dragged several feet by the SUV.  The vehicle smokes up, and a police car and other vehicles soon make their way over to the crash.

Police sources tell News 12 the 23-year-old victim was running across the road after he had just stolen beer.

The driver of the SUV remained on scene.

Police say there have been no arrests, and it appears there is no criminality on the driver’s part.
