Police probe attempted abduction on Webster Ave.

BRONX - Police are investigating after they say a man driving a black van approached an 11-year-old girl Tuesday morning and asked her to get in.

The girl ran away and her parents contacted police after the alleged incident on Webster Avenue near East 170th Street.

The man pulled over and motioned to the girl saying he had something for her, police say. He is described as black, wearing a blue Yankees cap, brown leather jacket and driving a black van with tinted windows.

Parents in the Claremont area say they are being cautious.
