THE BRONX - Police say two people were found dead Tuesday inside an apartment in the Wakefield Avenue Complex.

Authorities say they discovered a 45-year-old man in the living room and a 36-year-old woman unconscious in the bedroom of apartment 4A at around 4 p.m., but the bodies had been there for weeks. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency workers.

Tenants at 708 East 243rd St. say they called 911 after a foul smell began emanating from the apartment. The man who lived inside would often call police stating he would kill himself, they added.

The medical examiner has yet to determine the causes of death.
