Police probe robbery of MTA workers in Baychester

BAYCHESTER - Police are investigating after two female MTA workers were robbed by a man while working at the Baychester Avenue subway station on Saturday afternoon.

Officials say the two were robbed during a shift change.

MTA union officials say that this crime could have been prevented if there was a greater police presence at the station, citing a previous robbery that also occurred at the station.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
