Police probe string of church break-ins

KINGSBRIDGE - Police say they are searching for the suspect or suspects who stole thousands of dollars in a string of robberies targeting Kingsbridge churches.

Authorities say four churches have been broken into and a total of $14,000 has been stolen.

The most recent incident happened at Fordham Manor Church two weeks ago.  The pastor says someone snuck in through a window, smashed the safe and stole $300.

Police say the other robberies happened at the Saint Joseph Cursillo Center, Saint Stephen United Methodist and Water of Life churches.

They say there is a similar pattern with all of the robberies, leading them to believe the same suspect or suspects are responsible.
