THE BRONX - NYPD detectives are searching for the gunman responsible in a shooting on Tremont Avenue Monday that injured one man.

The shooting occurred just before 1 p.m. Monday on the corner of Hughes and Tremont avenues, according to police.

Footage from a nearby business shows the moment when shots were fired.

In the video, people appear running and ducking for cover. Police and emergency response teams arrived to the scene four minutes later.

Witnesses tell News 12 that the 19-year-old victim was heading east on Tremont Avenue, followed by a man who pulled out a gun and shot him in the left arm in front of a 7-Eleven store.

The teenager is at St. Barnabas Hospital, where he is expected to recover.

For more than three hours, 48th Precinct officers and detectives shut down Hughes and Belmont avenues to gather shell casings, collect surveillance footage and take witness statements.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set black man wearing a dark sweater and dark pants.
