MELROSE - A police source says that they are questioning the son of Tanya Byrd, the woman who was found dismembered this morning in Melrose.

A man out walking his dog found body parts in bags along Eagle Avenue. The remains have since been identified as Byrd, 45. Police say Byrd's son, 23-year-old Bashid McLean, had gone to police at the 40th Precinct early this morning to report his mother missing.

Witnesses report seeing a car randomly dumping bags of trash along the road where Byrd's remains were found.

Sources say police found questionable items at the home McLean shares with his mother, such as bleach and a box for a new Black and Decker saw.
