THE BRONX - Police have released the sketch of a man they say attempted to lure a girl into a stairwell in the Bronx.

It happened on July 25 on 175th Street and Walton Avenue in Mount Hope around 2:30 p.m.

Police say the suspect followed a 12-year-old girl into an elevator and threatened to hurt her if she did not follow him into a stairwell.

The girl was able to run to a neighbor’s apartment and get help as the suspect ran away. 

He is described as being 20 years old with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored shirt and pants. 

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
