Police: Woman in wheelchair tied up, beaten

MOUNT HOPE - Police are searching for the suspects who tied up and beat a wheelchair-bound woman in her Mount Hope apartment yesterday. Another resident in her East 175th Street building says she heard the woman screaming for help and found her lying face-down in vomit. She says the victim's arms and legs were wrapped in tape and that she had bruises on her face. The victim claims two men forced their way into her apartment and said they were looking for her roommate. The victim was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital, where she is listed in stable condition. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
