Police: Woman killed in Williamsbridge hit-and-run

Police say a woman was killed in a hit-and-run in Williamsbridge early Sunday morning.

Sharon Smith was struck while trying to cross at the intersection of East Gun Hill Road and White Plains Road just after 1 a.m., according to the officials.

THE BRONX - Police say a woman was killed in a hit-and-run in Williamsbridge early Sunday morning.

Sharon Smith was struck while trying to cross at the intersection of East Gun Hill Road and White Plains Road just after 1 a.m., according to the officials.

Police believe the vehicle that hit her was a dark-colored SUV.

When police arrived on scene, they found the 62-year-old lying in the road with severe body trauma.

Smith was taken to Montefiore Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made.
