THE BRONX - Local politicians are looking to pass legislation that would include higher penalties for those that steal from cemeteries.

The bill comes after Louis Peduto was allegedly caught stealing nearly $200,000 worth of valuables from the Old Saint Raymond's Cemetery.

Officials have already introduced a bill that creates higher penalties for mischief and larceny offenses at places of worship.
