THE BRONX - In order to beat the heat, city pools stayed open an hour later Thursday night.

With pools staying opened until 8:00 p.m., Bronx residents in Hunts Point took advantage of every minute.

Pool goers say it's a great way to relax and cool off during extreme temperatures.

"It's really nice because it's really refreshing to be out here in the water instead of trapped inside a house where it's house," says Destiny Torres, of Hunts Point.
