THE BRONX - Pope Francis is using a new survey to see how priests are dealing with a number modern issues affecting today’s Catholics.

Bishops from every parish around the world are being asked to weigh in on sensitive topics, such as contraception, single-parent families and gay marriage.

The questionnaire also mentions divorced Catholics receiving communion and the number of young people choosing to live together before getting married.

Results of the survey will be discussed in next year's synod, which is a meeting between the pope and Roman Catholic Church leaders.
