Postal worker assaulted on E. 183rd Street route

A postal worked sustained facial and head injuries after being assaulted on 365 East 183rd St. (3/26/13)

THE BRONX - A letter carrier was assaulted yesterday at 365 East 183rd St. by an unidentified suspect.

The 69-year-old victim sustained facial and head injuries while covering for a regular carrier who was on vacation. He was treated at St. Barnabas Hospital and released late last night.

After the worker was assaulted, he continued his shift while bleeding and went to the hospital once his route ended to get stitched up.

Officials say the suspect was wearing a ski mask.

The motive behind the attack is unclear.
