THE BRONX - Power has been restored to hundreds of residents in Pelham Bay after a major outage struck the area Sunday.

Con Edison reported that approximately 1,100 customers were affected in Pelham Bay and surrounding communities. Several crews were dispatched to the area and worked quickly to bring systems back online.

The outage reached streets from Wellman Avenue, down Lafayette and East Edison avenues, to West Ferris Place.

Con Edison says the outage was caused by a faulty underground cable.
