Preston H.S. students raise awareness for the homeless

THE BRONX - Preston High School students were out raising awareness on the daily plight for the homeless by sleeping outside in cardboard boxes.

Nearly 100 students built their own makeshift house and camped out in the school's backyard last night. The students created their own different backgrounds to explain how they ended up on the streets.

Given a certain number of pennies, the students had to use them wisely to buy food and survive.

The students said the campout helped remind them of how lucky they are to have a home.
