Price for veggies, fruits skyrocket

THE BRONX - The devastating earthquake in Chile and a rough winter in Florida are leading to much higher prices for fruits and vegetables in the Bronx.

Supply has fallen drastically for many products, causing the price to spike up considerably.

"It's upsetting," says one local resident. "I enjoy having fruit in my house. I have it at least three times a day and the fact that I'm going to lessen my consumption of fruit is really upsetting."
