NEW YORK - Manhattan prosecutors have recommended dropping the criminal sexual assault charges against former International Monetary Fund Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn because they have questions about the credibility of the accuser.
Court papers filed Monday by prosecutors say that accuser Nafissatou Diallo, who was a maid at the Sofitel Hotel at the time of the incident, repeatedly gave false information to investigators andgrand jurors about her life, her past and her actions after herencounter with Strauss-Kahn.
Diallo?s lawyer, Kenneth Thompson, said the hotel maid was denied justice by the prosecutors? recommendation.
