THE BRONX - Postal workers and patrons protested the sale and possible closure of an iconic post office building in The Bronx.

The small rally was held ahead of a public forum in which the U.S. Postal Service said that a sale doesn't necessarily mean the post office will close. If the buyer allows, the post office could continue operations on the bottom floor.

Officials are also open to a variety of buyers, and say that the building's architecture and murals will be preserved.

The building has stood at the Grand Concourse and 149th Street since the 1930s.
