THE BRONX - Protests erupted outside the courthouse Tuesday where the NYPD officer charged with killing an unarmed Bronx teenager stepped before a judge.

Officer Richard Haste has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges in the shooting death of Ramarley Graham. Haste chased the 18-year-old into the bathroom of his home earlier this year, believing he was armed and carrying drugs.

Graham's family and supporters say they want harsher charges brought against the officer.

Haste's appearance was a routine hearing. He's due back in court on March 26.
