THE BRONX - Students from the Bronx Academy of Promise have begun training to create their own app after winning a national competition last month.

Sixth-graders from the school's Quest Math team took the top prize in the Verizon Innovative App Challenge with their math game based on Greek mythology. Developers from the MIT App Inventor Training Corp are now showing the students how to turn their idea into a reality.

The app is expected to be available this summer at the Google Play store.
