THE BRONX - Today was the final day for a Bronx senior center that served the community for five years.

The East Bronx Center, run by Regional Aid for Interim Needs (RAIN), closed its doors today mainly due to lack of funding. The center served nearly 60 seniors a day.

Seniors who frequented the center tell News 12 that it was like a family and that they do not know where they will be spending their extra time now.

There are 10 other centers in The Bronx that are operated by RAIN, but there is no word yet on whether they will remain open.
